Upcoming Events – Mark Your Calendar

Sept 7th,8th,9th in Boxboro Ma. Is the ARRL Convention/flea market. Sept 8th is the John Moore Estate Sale, selling off many items he has collected over the years, including many tools of all ages. At 320 Dustin Rd, Contoocook NH. Sept 8th & 9th is a VHF Contest. So reach out to your contesters!! Sept 11th is our next club meeting, being held at the Henniker Community Center in Henniker. We will be exploring VHF in all it’s glory! So if you have a project, a story, a question, an award, or a curious nature, please come and take part!! Directions: Take Rush Rd off Main Street, and your first right onto Crescent Street and park in the municipal parking, the community center is at the end of the parking lot facing the park. Upcoming Events

Our wonderful club members have come through again! We have programs tentatively planned out for the coming months, August will be a HF Forum where knowledgeable members will share with us their experience’s, “Working DX when the Band Sounds Dead” by Barry Whittemore NF1O, and Dave Perrin K1OPQ! September will be a VHF Forum where you, the members will be encouraged to bring in your contest awards, portable antenna’s, rigs, and tales to share so that we may all learn from your successes, and the things you had to try again! October we are hoping to have our own Chris Wiles who has made a portable antenna for roving, and is going to share with us his roving expertise! We are going to try to get him to come back in November to teach us all how to make his roving antenna for “Make (more…)

June Regular Meeting Tonight June 5th at 730

Yes, the meeting is pushed up one week in June to enable the very kind library the space to hold their annual book sale.   Yes, we will have a presentation on and about Field Day, past and present. Should be good for a few laughs! Afterward we will be holding a short round table to get input from our club members regarding the future of our club.   Field Day is coming up! Please write to me at kilobravoone@gmail.com to let me know if you are attending, if you will be taking meals (which ones), and if you will be assisting with set-up, band operation ( which ones), and/or tear down. As usual the meals are only $5 each, and we will be serving 4 meals; Sat lunch, Sat dinner, Sun breakfast, Sunday lunch….please come to the June 5th meeting to purchase your (more…)

Regular Meeting May 8 and future events list

The presentation for our May 8th meeting is Neil AE1P Goodell’s part 2 on RF Grounding. We are all looking forward to that great information!   For our June 12th meeting we will be sharing Field Day Past & Present, and holding a roundtable discussion of what programs you, our club members want to see, and what direction you would like to see the club go. We are heading into our 60th year and it is all our hope that we have another wonderful 60 years!   Field Day is coming up fast on June 23rd & 24th. We are looking for  a Field Day Chairperson to organize the event and get the paperwork in on time, for an 80m, and a 2m,  Band Captain, and a Food King or Queen to help plan the menu, shop, do food prep, and organize the service. 3/13/18 Meeting canceled due to storm!

Due to the storm that is expected starting Tuesday morning and lasting until Wednesday, we are canceling the Tuesday night meeting. If you are interested in seeing Dales talk, please feel free to be at the Cheshire County DX Club on Wednesday night. Tech Class Coming in October

The CVRC will offer a Tech License study class starting Friday, October 20 and lasting for 4 weeks.  The class will meet Fridays from 6pm – 9pm at the Red Cross building at 2 Maitlan Street in concord.  The course will use the Gordon West books available from Amazon and other sources at about $21.  The study course is free.  If you have any questions, please email Frank, N1FDR at ARRL.NET (more…)
