Jerry Blanchard, K1BBQ (SK)

Gerald “Jerry” S. Blanchard, 76, died Sunday, May 20, 2018, in Manchester, of a sudden illness surrounded by his loving family. Born on Dec. 24, 1941, in Washington, the son of Sherley Blanchard and Theda Mae Houghton. He was the adoring husband of Sonia M. (Parra) Blanchard. They were married Dec. 18, 1997, in Marco Island, Fla. Jerry attended Hillsborough-Deering High School. He served in the Army National Guard and Washington Fire Department; received his Associates Degree at the New Hampshire Technical Institute and is Bachelors with The University of New Hampshire in electrical engineering, serving his lifetime in telecommunications. He was an avid amateur radio operator serving as the Assistant Emergency Coordinator for the Capital Area Amateur Radio Emergency Services (CAARES), where he provided group-wide home electronic automatic notification systems utilizing his expertise and equipment from Exacom. Regular Meeting May 8 and future events list

The presentation for our May 8th meeting is Neil AE1P Goodell’s part 2 on RF Grounding. We are all looking forward to that great information!   For our June 12th meeting we will be sharing Field Day Past & Present, and holding a roundtable discussion of what programs you, our club members want to see, and what direction you would like to see the club go. We are heading into our 60th year and it is all our hope that we have another wonderful 60 years!   Field Day is coming up fast on June 23rd & 24th. We are looking for  a Field Day Chairperson to organize the event and get the paperwork in on time, for an 80m, and a 2m,  Band Captain, and a Food King or Queen to help plan the menu, shop, do food prep, and organize the service.
